About

Mr. Murphy is a science teacher at Nonnewaug High School who specializes in physics and physical science.  He mentors a FIRST robotics team, and an Electrathon team.  He also enjoys the outdoors, photography and videography, theoretical physics, earth and space science, robotics, debate, philosophy, education and pedagogy, technology, etymology, and peanut butter to name a few, and hopes to blog on all these interests and more.

The title of this blog comes from a lyric of the Harry Chapin song “Flowers are Red,” the sad tale of education stifling creativity instead of promoting it.  Bonus points if you know what song the subtitle is from.

Please note, the postings in this blog are the statements of Mr. Murphy, and do not necessarily reflect the positions of his employer, Connecticut Regional School District #14
